Introducing The SUP Challenge Projects
6 Apr 2022
26 applications. 8 selected finalists. 6 months of exciting growth and seizing of opportunities.
We’re excited to kick off work around reducing single-use plastic waste in South and Southeast Asia, together with over 80 startups that our cohort participants will recruit and support to pilot innovative solutions in key cities, districts and countries. Between April to September, funding of US$500,000 will be allocated to the 8 Entrepreneur Support Organizations to scale their projects and on-ground implementations.
Participants will go through cohort-based programming, mentoring sessions, and 1-on-1 support to enhance their project delivery. The cohort will also contribute their experience and best practices towards a Technical Assistance Playbook for ESOs developed by The Incubation Network.
Insights derived from their pilots will contribute to a study around understanding the environmental impacts of alternatives to single-use plastic packaging. The results will be outlining the environmental considerations associated with single-use replacement business models and the opportunities to reduce negative impacts or recognize carbon savings, relative to virgin plastic production.
Stay tuned to meet our cohort participants over the next few months, as we introduce them and their exciting projects to tackle single-use plastic waste with the ultimate goal of ending plastic pollution.
